I have enjoyed so much seeing all the dresses that you purchased from The Born Again Gypsy for your Easter Celebrations today. I will admit, I cried a little.

The story of the Easter Dress holds so much emotion for me that it’s hard to adequately put it into words every year.

I was scheduled to start the House That Mercy Built on Easter Sunday of 2015. I knew everyone would be in their Easter best, but myself, having squandered everything, had nothing. Not even shoes to wear as mine had been stolen the night before.

So I borrowed one.

Truth is, I didn’t really care what I wore that morning because I had my sights set on a new life.

•BUT•

I never forgot the kind gesture of the woman who let me borrow from her closet and how it made me feel like a little bit less of an outsider. I won’t ever forget it.

Every year I make sure my family has “all the things”. Including myself, a new dress. There was a time when I didn’t have any of this and it’s my hearts joy to do so now. Even more so for you guys. I adore clothing you. It brings my heart so much happiness to help you chose the perfect dress for Easter.

I have glimpses of that broken girl who just wanted to feel pretty to meet her Savior, as I am bagging up your Easter dresses behind the counter.

I hope you felt beautiful today.
