About the designer:
Kathryn's love for designing began when she was eight years old, when she and her mother designed her school-year wardrobe consisting of funky printed shorts and coordinating embellished tees. As a former architecture student at the University of Florida, she switched to fashion design, realizing that creating a structure to live in was similar to creating a structure to wear,
and her heart was in the fashion world. Her study of Architecture still plays a role in her aesthetic today, which is demonstrated through the presence of sleek lines and innovative construction details. She started her namesake label in February 2011 and has been a featured designer on Ritdye.com and her designs appeared in the January 2012 issue of Fashion Frenzy Magazine. In 2014, she took a break from her own label to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, where her work was selected for the Fall 2014 Fashion Design Exhibition. In addition, she was the Student Spotlight winner on www.UniversityofFashion.com in Spring 2014. Since finishing Design school, she has worked at Pamella Roland, where one of her designs was featured on both Elle.com and WWD.com. She is currently a Freelance Designer in New York City. She also has a blog, Design Documentary, in which she documents her design process from concept through creation, letting you see the struggles, successes, and developments that happen in the designer's world!
