Today is quite a bittersweet one for me. 7 years ago I received a phone call that dropped me to my knees in tears....."I'm sorry Lisa, you have cancer" is all my doctor could say. Not only cancer but one of the rare and difficult ones to treat. I'm so thankful to still be here and only because I had the most amazing support system....my family, my team of doctors, friends, God and a sense of humor! Because of cancer I am grateful for the lessons learned, the most incredible people I have met and the path it has taken me to be able to help others. I hate that it has taken too many friends, revisited others and new to even more. Cancer is the cruelest of diseases because it has no boundaries ...especially the children. Although this is a day to celebrate the fear of cancer coming back is something all "survivors" deal with on a constant basis. I can't stress enough my friends...be proactive, get your check ups, if something doesn't feel right..find out why. Lastly, enjoy life!!!!!
