FINISHED!
My first finished blanket of the year. And the first time in years that I made a blanket for myself! Started in August and finished February 8th.

What started as a fun use of mostly scraps, turned emotional—a rarity for me. There are farms, dyers and shops I knew personally. Some are no longer in business. And as it became larger, the “scraps” turned into balls. I couldn’t call my friends that. Mementos felt better.

And now I feel better, knowing they’ll always be with me. And for those who are around and to name a few—I can buy more without guilt!

I’m wearing my Spring ‘26’ sweater, but it’s Really about promoting young Black artisans.

Jolie’s work in polymer—I have her beautiful earrings—inspired me, and piqued her interest in making bespoke buttons. Sewing is reemerging, and even Buttons can make a statement. And her buttons were an exclamation point!

Time Flies Faster Than My Hands in NYC!—
Gosh! It was only 2 weeks ago.

NOW that I’m out of Completion Mode, I can post in gratitude to the creatives I sought out making my time worth the freeze!

1. Hanging with , a longtime friend and multi-skilled Artisan (her chainmail metal work! Her crochet!). I’ll be instructing her Size Inclusive Design with her purchase of Garment Designer!
2 & 3. Holding the digital printout instructions of my sweater design, with Susan Lazear of Her three decade, game changing CAD design program works for All crafts and includes style sets to build your designs—In Whatever Size You Want!
4, 5 & 6. The accomplished Keira
Her sumptuously dyed wools and blends. My hand spun, crocheted swatch, motivated my students to start learning right away!
7, 8 & 9. A CROCHET KNAPSACK. Who Else can design and develop an accessory as such, but my Menswear God, Nassat . A multifaceted Designer/Artisan, he brings an aesthetic to the medium, putting him in the league with Kid Super and beyond—Fashion, take notice! We already are!
10. Dearest first walked into Mantra Monday group with a mis-informing YouTube knitting pattern. We became friends, and since that time she has transformed into one of the Most Stylish knitters, volunteered at VKLive!, and has a love of lace, that I’m Dying to design her custom dress kit for!
The warmth and offerings of colleagues and friends are what makes needles, hooks and yarns feel good in your hands. 🙌🏾 ❤️🧶

I’m a subscriber to because the connection between what we create and the farms that raise and care for the animals and plants we NEED, is a circularity of Love.

Made from a blend of 50/50 wool and alpaca, with inserts of MY recycled yarn bits and silk slivers. Plied with a second yarn of hand dyed silver silk and wool tweed.
Just what I wanted—a chunky, butch knit on the outside; warm and soft on inside.

Perfect for a custom made, zip front sweater for a stylish “Roughneck” to Flex.
