Meet Lisa: The one question I get asked so often is how I got started doing what I do. I have been home with my two children for 9.5 years, and when my daughter was two, I decided I wanted to start making her clothes. She began wearing them, and I had moms come to me and ask me to make clothes for their kiddos. My dad called my daughter Brady Mac (short for Brayden Mackenzie), and that is where the name of my business came from. As that evolved, I had ideas for tees that I wanted to wear, so I started designing and making them. That is where my passion is. My tees are what makes me happy in this business. Although I love making childrens’ clothes and I still offer them, my passion is in designing tees for women and kiddos. As my business began to grow through word of mouth (which I am soooo extremely grateful for), I could not keep up with the demand. In January of this year, I began working with a good friend of mine who was also making children’s clothes. Her business was also named after her daughter, Peyton Laine. Bridget Harthcock and I have merged our forces, and we work extremely well together and are able to better keep up with the demand of our growing business. She is a dear friend, and I truly don’t know how I could have kept up without her. Since our merge, we have created a name that is dear to both of us. Brady Laine is who we are now. Not only does it stand for two girls very dear to our hearts, it stands for the countless hours we put into our work. So much of time is spent in our work room designing, embroidering, and creating clothes and tees that are unique and not like the rest. Our sweat, tears, and time away from our kiddos’ makes us extremely passionate about what we do. I truly can’t imagine doing anything else though. I’m one of those creative minds that doesn’t think like the rest. I often look at my siblings and wonder where on earth I came from. With that being said, I know that there is a special place in this world for everyone and everyone adds something valuable to this world. I believe I have found what I was meant to do and love best. Thank you to all of my family, friends, and customers who have been with me from the beginning, stuck by me, watched me grow, and have loved me. Without you, I could have never made my dream come true.
