Camp LOL

Camp LOL Camp LOL is an annual camp for registered Girl Scouts that is held at scenic Turtle River State Park. The LOL in Camp LOL doesn't stand for "laugh out loud".

However, that is strongly encouraged at our camp! The LOL stands for "Living Our Legacy" or rather the legacy the Juliette Gordon Low left us. It is held every September and each year we have a different theme with programming centered around that theme. Girl Scouts who attend have an opportunity to participate in many different activities which helps them foster an appreciation for the outdoors!

Remembering Marilyn Hagerty today. After she went viral 13 years ago, she was gracious enough to be a celebrity judge at our camp for the skits and SWAPS competition. We had two special patches made for her bearing her image that she gave out at camp. There was also an article in the Herald titled “Marilyn Merits a Badge”. The link is no longer available. If anyone has a copy, please post it below! And if you have one of these coveted patches, I hope you remember that camp fondly! What a wonderful lady!

As it is our 15th anniversary, we need to give a shoutout to our most veteran volunteer Kay Larson Williams! AKA “Krafty Kay”. Kay has been a volunteer for our camp since 2013!! It takes a person with a big heart to continually return year after year and volunteer their time, talents, resources and good energy to provide programming for our Girl Scouts. If we do the math, Kay has done about 1,170 crafts at camp. She is amazing and we are so fortunate that she chooses to spend her time with us! Thank you, Kay! ♥️
