Still here. Still open Monday/Wed/Fri 10-4
Although, we will close early if nothing is going on. We are about 4 wks out from the drop-off date at the moment Due to a heritage-level quilt being on the rack at the moment. Those wait dates will shorten once that monster comes off (about another week we estimate)

HEY - I am not a heavy FB user and I forget that we have this page so I figured that I should at least do a quick update for those that look here. Mom and I ARE accepting quilts by Appointment only at the moment. We set up a time for you to come in and then it's just you and us.

BUT we have also been making masks like mad women and the quilts have been put on hold for a bit. We do a day of quilting work and a day mask work of late.

If YOU want to use up some of your larger scraps and give us a hand in mask making then call us for a pattern and instructions to make the Olson style that a lot of medical people have been asking for. It seems the "hospital/surgical" style is nice and works but the preferred and most requested is the Olson (see pic). We can add the nose wires for you so you don't have to go looking for material for that.

IF you're not into making the masks, we do take donations for materials and shipping cost of the masks since this is a labor of love and hope.

Be safe. Stay home as best you can. But always be GOOD to one another.

Things have been crazy for us at the Studio with illnesses and physical problems that we had a rough patch there for a bit but we are healthy (knock on wood) and we seem to be catching a lot of alterations. And that is just fine with us. Hope to see y'all soon.

we have two new quilts that are fresh off the long-arm rack - 'Western Fun' - a quick panel lap quilt with a leather-tooled stitch pattern (pre-sold) and 'The Manly Quilt' -a panel block-based masculine quilt with a 5 part custom wilderness E-2-E pattern (Consignment). I will be posting pictures of them Here on FB and on our Website. We can't wait to see what our clients come up with next. 😁

Dreamcatchers Story (so far)- by Dee

Dreamcatchers started off as a bunch discussions while moving myself and my fiance cross-country back to Michigan from Washington state. And a portion of how these conversations started was due to the packing and moving my fabric stash which had been significantly augmented by inheriting a “small” portion of my grandmother’s stash when she passed. Dorthy, my father’s mother, was a quilter, a community member of her social circles, and a good-hearted woman, who also was part of the inspiration of our decisions to choose quilting as our jump point into our dream.

Thus we ‘dreamed’ as the miles rolled away about what it was we could do together as a mother/daughter team. We both had always wanted to attempt our own business and also wanted to utalize our creativity and to be a service to our various communities. We knew we had a lot to offer as far as experience in sewing, management, office procedures, people skills, etc. Sure, neither of us knew how to “run a business.” But we were not interested in traditional business models either. We wanted to be something else, something real, something that we wanted to experience when we go out into the world as consumers. I think everyone one wants this and we wanted to be that kind of place.

Sewing has always held a special place in our hearts. It has different meanings to both of us at any given time. Yet out of all our varied creative, crafty, arty endeavors we consistently return to sewing as our one tried and true love. Clothing, quilting, fabric crafts, it all comes from sewing, using our hands, focusing on the creative aspects that make each piece our own creation despite sometimes using a commercial pattern or being inspired by something on the net. Why does any this matter?

Because it means that we understand. We understand the hard work, blood, sweat, tears, cursing, pet hair, significant other issues... (the list goes on) that happens for each quilter. We understand each ripped seam, each bobbin fail, each un-threading needle and we can commiserate. And we also understand the triumphs, the moments of satisfaction, the feeling of great accomplishment when a project becomes a finished piece. We are humbled by others appreciation of our hard work. And we are pleased to serve those who appreciate us for our services.
