Surya Namaskar, or sun salutation, seems like a fitting sentiment as we start to warm up and wake up to the SUN!!!!!
As Christians, we do not honor the sun as the force that brings all things to life, but like Jesus, we can rise up and pray (Luke 22:46) and begin our day with God, the true force that brings life to all things.
The design concept behind these two styles is to remind Christians that yoga can still be practiced in a meaningful way without taking away from our faith. We can use Sun Salutation as a means to honor God and start our day with prayer and movement, but our true values lie within “Son” Salutations and honoring the one true God.

Your yoga flow may vary from day to day, depending on the focus and what your body needs, but your faith in Christ is everlasting and will always remain a central aspect of your day. While practicing asanas and syncing your breath with movement, remind yourself of the Living God and use these moments to connect to Him as well.

Last year I began yoga to help with chronic pain and as a means to manage therapy while dealing with past trauma. As I began to appreciate yoga and its amazing benefits, I also questioned how that would impact my Christian faith. As I searched for solutions, I found few options for Christians practicing yoga and felt the need to change this for myself and others.
Today, I am launching Christian Asana, which combines my Christian faith and love for the physical practice of yoga (Asana). Please take a look for yourself and help me to bring awareness and appreciation for yoga while honoring your Christian faith.
