+Highlight from one of last week’s morning sessions. Look how high she gets in her jump stop!! +

+Piper went through a ladder right before this. I like overemphasizing the mechanics of the dodge by having my athletes go through the ladder and then approach the cones. Little training never hurts! +
•
+If you use the ladder, make sure to leave a box between where you place your feet. Example: Face the ladder. Left foot in first box, skip the second box, right foot in third box. Jump back out of the ladder, then jump back in, this time with left foot in second box, skip the third, and right foot in the fourth box. +
•
+PS Piper is a middie and has chosen the Exult 600 head with the Crux 600 PF Skinny Shaft, and she had me string it with Venom Mesh.

+ to last March when I first took over as manager at Timonium. While March 2020 is a lot different than last March 2019, the care and attention I give to each stick has not. This a quick snippet of ten minutes I spent on the wall with this stick right after stringing. If you get your stick strung by me, no matter the pocket, I will be the one ensuring it performs well.+

+For those of you wondering, yes, Lacrosse Unlimited is still open and yes, I’m still accepting stringing orders and orders of all kinds. If anything, I’m more functional than ever before because I can’t have customer traffic in store! So, and send me your stick for a restring, or buy a new one, or grab some comfy lax clothes to rock while you all day! Any little bit helps!+

+P.S. notice the way the ball doesn’t move in the pocket? That’s called hold. If you try to cradle like this and the ball flies out, I can change that for you. I had that problem my ENTIRE playing career until I switched to hybrid mesh and started stringing my own sticks.

+Here’s the wall ball portion of a lesson with a while back at Liberty HS in Eldersburg (their wall is fenced in, which is EXTRA awesome for when you aren’t perfect & miss the catch 😉)+

+The progression starts one handed, builds to two sticks to have some fun and to challenge our brains, and then gives you a nice little routine that will work on a myriad of stick skills. Aka you are building confidence in yourself like Maisy did by the time this was over. If there’s anything you believe you can’t do, push through that uncomfortable feeling and fight the urge to quit. Your comfort zone will have expanded as a result. Good luck! Stay safe!
