Day 2 Complete! 💯🎯💪🪡🧵🛍😁🎉
Another 6 hr day to finish our "Get it Gurl" tote bags, pattern by Jordan Porter Handmade. I finished adding the rolled handles to the main panels; added the bottom panels; constructed and added the gusset panels to complete the exterior of the bag. Then on to building the internal pocket panels & "birthing holes" where we will be turning the bags inside out and closing up seams. Assembled the internal part of the bag, connecting the pocket panels to the gusset and added my printed cork tags. Completed the construction by inserting the bag lining and connecting, pulling everything thru, closing up turning holes and top stitching on the cylinder arm machine...and adding hardware. Thanks Lauren from More Me Know for finishing that cylinder arm part for me and hosting us in your AMAZING Studio space! And thanks to Nicole from SewGnar for teaching us 2 amazing projects! 💪😁🧵🪡💸💸🎯💯

Day 1 Complete - Part 2:
💯🎯💪🪡🧵🛍😁🎉 We started on our "Get it Gurl" tote bags. Mine is crafted with Evil Eye patterned cork, with Teal and Natural cork accents. I love crafting my stuff out of mixed / coordinating colored materials. I vertical quilted the main panels with fused foam stabilizer; created the bag handles; created the "rolled handle" tops; and attached the 1st handle to one of the panels. Class ran from 10am - 4pm... Hopefully this gives you an idea of the manual labor involved in selecting patterns, assembling materials and hardware, measuring, cutting, prepping, reading thru patterns, the machinery involved and the LABOR... and help to understand why HANDCRAFTED items are worth their pricing and their artisan creators deserve that value. If you saw the "Sneak peek" posts, you already know all the materials that were pre-prepped for class... 10 hours already into the item before construction even started. Tomorrow we will be completing our bags, and shopping the materials in the warehouse section of the studio... Watch for the final reveal! 💪😁🧵🪡💸💸🎯💯

Day 1 Complete!💯🎯💪🪡🧵🛍😁🎉 Today we completed our Tall Wallet pattern by Nicole from SewGnar who is teaching us both Days at the More Me Know Studio in Belleville, IL. We inserted the zipper for the coin pouch into the main panel; made the Wallet closing tab; the ID panel and card slots; 2nd card slot panel; inserted the lining panel and stitched both credit card panels which also create 2 bill / check pockets. Then added magnetic snaps, and stitched coin pouch boundary line. ALL DONE!

Stopped at the The Fabric Cobbler in Forsythe, IL on our way to our weekend bag making class. Got to meet the amazing Scarlett, and shop all the wonderful fabrics in her quaint shop! It's really cool to have online connections, and then meet them in real life! She has a website where you can shop, and she does videos too! Support a Woman Veteran owned business if you are inclined.🛍👛 Coming home with some amazing fabrics!🛍🎉🎯 After shopping, we stopped at the little church park behind the shop and had a picnic lunch before continuing our journey...
