I understand. I worked traditional retail for many years before I found where I could be both playful and busy, and now I do that full time.
But there is no need for a long commitment … the Texas Renaissance Festival is only open for 17 days. 8 weekends of high-volume retail sales in an interactive environment that is a fantasy land sprung-up in a series of wooded glens and fields, located northwest of Houston. The event happens at The Texas Renaissance Festival, for 8 weekends, beginning October 11th, and ending November 30th, including Black Friday.
The positions are for engaged, fun people interested in selling leather hats and accessories, and learning basic leatherworking skills for assembly and repair of my leather products as well as customer's pieces. The work often requires hours of standing. Everyone is costumed, and we aren't allowed obvious facial piercings or a lot of tattoos and unnatural hair colors that can't be covered by your clothes. It's a themed event, so our whole look is to play the part of artisans in a Renaissance village.
Starting pay is $150 per day, plus shared tips, and a percentage of the sales from the weekends. There will also be set up and tear down work during the week prior to opening and after we close at $12 an hour. This is mostly cleaning and unpacking\packing which really helps to familiarize you with my products.
