February marks the 8th year I have owned and operated WatersEdge Trading Company.
I cannot fully express the gratitude I have to those who have supported Watersedge through the years and maintained my faith in humanity.
If someone had set out double side scale eight years ago one side labeled challenges and the other rewards and started loading up the challenge side first with the weight of all challenges that would occur, I would think there’s no flipping way the rewards side can balance this thing out.
Then the rewards came dumping down and about launched all the challenge weights to the top of Tofte Peak.
Looking forward, I foresee challenges unimaginable 8 years ago. But when you’re just trying to get off the ground, hard to worry about turbulence at 40,000 feet 🤓.
As I work to delegate more shop duties to my partner in training, it’s head spinning just all that goes into it. As I told Nick , I’m scouting a quarterback to make it to the NFL hall of fame. After watching his first high school game, he’s got a cannon, can make every throw, and is mobile. Now I need to show him how to read defenses, call audibles, manage the play clock, train in the off season, etc. Then he tells me he doesn’t watch football, doesn’t know what any of that means 😌
As for humanity… 2 short stories…
There was a lady (customer?)who was harassing my wife at her place of work. A really pathetic individual. She was aware we had children and wanted to see pictures of them, to which my wife refused. I had posted pictures on my public business page of them. She went into my wife’s place of employment one day and slyly remarked on how beautiful or children were, and that she had seen pictures of them. My wife was unhappy and we decided not to post any more pictures of us on this page for years. Upon further review, there’s no sense in allowing one, two, or even a few negative souls to dictate spreading the joy we have in our family.
Yesterday I got a letter in the mail with 21 dollars in it. There was also a two sided letter. One side written by mom the other by daughter. It was an incredibly sincere apology for stealing from my store. Big re enforcement in humanity🥹. This type of thing has happened a few times over the years.
I listen to Wiz Khalifa on the daily…this song will get lots of play this year. Be OK
