Gofuku no Hi [ใ‚ดใƒ•ใ‚ฏใฎๆ—ฅ] Kimono Day is derived from the date May 29 or 5-2-9, which is go-fu-ku, and gofuku is a word for silk traditional clothing. With this play on words, it has become a day for people to celebrate wearing traditional Japanese clothing, kimono!

So wear any type of kimono today to celebrate! Meet up with friends to take photos. Go out to the park and have a picnic. Or maybe just have a chill day at home, lounging in yukata. Whatever you decide to do, have fun!
