Well, I have been avoiding posting this, but it's getting closer and closer to the end of the month and the time has come. I'm very happy for my Dad and it is the right timing for this to happen. Dimitri Heel to Toe Shoe Repair will be closing our doors at the end of this month. Shoe repair has been our family business for over 100 years and my Dad Dimitri has been owning and operating his business for over 40 years. The business was handed down to him by his father back in 1973 on Broadway Ave and South St. Next he moved to the Key St. near Heatherdowns location and stayed there for 20 years. We actually had 2 stores going for a few years back in 2005-ish.. That other store was the Airport Hwy location which is where he has been for a good 20 years as well.. I have had the privilege of working side by side with my Dad for about 20 years. After high-school I decided I wanted a learn the family business. The work was way more challenging than I anticipated but as time went on I developed my skills and began to really enjoy what I was doing. I'm so grateful and blessed to have had that special time with my Dad and learning the family business. My Dad is healthy and doing well. He's still going to be working on the bags and airplane plugs that he makes for Tronair. Very grateful for Tronair as well. My Dad is the hardest worker I've ever known! Rain, shine, or snowstorm he was up at the crack of dawn going to work. Thank you so much for supporting our family business and trusting us to care for your shoes, purses, jackets and everything in-between. Stop on over to the Shop and soak up all the nostalgia. My Dad would love to see you. ❤️
