Commemorative Cup Plates.

Commemorative cup plates are a token collectors item. These were made popular in the 1970's and 80's by Pairpoint. Many companies went on to produce thousands of unique designs that were pressed into plates as small as half an inch, most around 3.5 inches, and used to commemorate a specific period, person, place, or achievement. These can be found featuring animals, buildings, people, vehicles, anything you may think of is likely preserved forever on these beautiful pieces of glass.

Originating in the 18th century, cup plates have a very long history in the glass world. It surely is fascinating that these antique items inspired a whole new world of glass collecting. An early example of an antique cup plate can be seen in the final picture.

Here is a wonderful set of uranium green glass shakers made by Jeanette Glass Co. between 1936 and 1946. The pattern featured upon them is the Windsor or the Windsor Diamond pattern. These pieces are pressed beautifully and catch the sunlight exquisitely. The caps have been replaced overtime with new replacements due to salt corrosion but the glass itself is in near perfect condition. Aside from some small fleabites on the rim of the shakers beneath the cap, these are free of damage.

This is a 1920's art deco uranium, custard glass belt buckle. The glass is a beautiful, creamy color that is sure to catch the eye. It features a wonderful silver floral pattern placed upon a vine. The clasp has seem some wear but is still firmly attached to the glass. The belt loops have also seems some aging but this piece is very restorable. As this is a used piece, there is some minor chipping on the back side of the buckle.
