So remember that boutique bus I told you about? Wellllll... apparently I forgot to tell you how that chapter actually ENDED. 😳🔥
June 7, 2019. A day I'll NEVER forget.
We hadn't used the bus in a while. Business was shifting online, so we'd decided to sell her. My dad had even painted the inside to freshen it up.
Only problem? The battery wouldn't hold a charge. Eddie had been trying to figure it out for weeks and worked on it again that morning before heading out for a run.
I was home. The kids were gone for the day.
Suddenly I heard a horn blaring outside. I thought someone was in our driveway being a turd. 😂
I walked out and saw FLAMES.
Eddie's truck was on fire. So was the bus. And they were WAY too close to our house.
All I could think about was how cars EXPLODE in the movies. I was convinced we were seconds away from some massive explosion that would take our house with it. 😭
I panicked. Apparently my brain thought a giant mixing bowl of water would save the day. 🤦♀️ So there I was filling one in the kitchen while TWO VEHICLES burned outside.
I called 911. They told me to get out and stay far away. Then I called Eddie.
He had no idea what was happening. He found a woman in her driveway and begged for a ride home. By the time they turned onto our road, he could see the smoke.
I was a MESS. Crying, shaking, terrified we'd lose our house.
Eddie ran inside and grabbed Max, our laptop and a canvas picture of our family off the wall.
The essentials. ❤️
Firefighters arrived 11 minutes after my call. They later told us that if it had been windy, our house likely would've caught fire too.
Thankfully it was calm. Our house was okay. Everyone was safe.
The bus? Gone.
Eddie's truck? Completely toast. Literally. 🔥
So there you have it. We bought a bus to make life easier, turned it into a boutique, hauled it to events, got stuck in someone's yard...
And then it caught on FIRE.
You seriously cannot make this stuff up. 😂
We lost two vehicles that day, but thankfully everyone was safe and our house was still standing.
And THAT, friends, is how the boutique bus era officially ended. ❤️🚌
I guess you could say she went out with a bang. 😳🔥
