Join us Friday, October 16 at 7pm for a book reading, signing, and Q & A with author/poet Britt Warner 🌵
Her observational writing focuses on Tucson and its surrounding desert lands. It’s a beautiful work that we’re proud to promote.

On September 22, the sun passed directly across the Earth’s celestial equator, giving us a practically equal split of day and night. In doing so, the Equinox marked the northern hemisphere’s transition from summer to fall. The sun rises just a little bit later every day as we tip gently away from our main heat source. This temporal moment is one that we await, applaud, and rejoice here in southern Arizona. Even if temperatures refuse to fall or the rains come late (like they did last year), we still know that cooler nights are on the way, and our six-or-seven-month respite from the solar intensity is imminent.
Moving through an equinox, and shifting into a new season can feel like a bit of a balancing act, disorienting and exciting all at once. It’s an opportunity to shift focus, to be in the now, to stay mindful and supportive of those around us. We’re excited to move through it with you, to find wonder and bliss in the coming shorter days, and to make the most of the longer nights.
