another favorite from this spring. I wanted this to be reminiscent of how my hair was when I was younger. one of my earliest experiences with death have been my family’s cats over the last 29 years, so in painting this i feel like i was still literally holding onto those memories. spring for the title is referring to the spring of our lives (childhood) & i wanted it to feel like it was bathed in early sunrise colors to push that idea of beginning further. 🌞

I am so incredibly thankful for 12+ years of friendship, endless talks, parallel non verbal conversations, getting our essences, Thursday rituals, horror movies, riffing the bit, & so many hilarious shenanigans in between. she is such a talented creator, retreat leader, community organizer, poet & artist. she endlessly inspires me & so many of my paintings include her as evidence. ✨here’s to many many more sun rotations together, i love you i love you i love you.
