No tricks, just tiles! 🀄🎉

Our Mahjong Mayhem April Fools open play was a total win—filled with laughs, friendly competition, and just the right amount of chaos! From delicious bites to exciting games and awesome prizes, it was certainly a night to remember!

Whether you came to play, snack, or just enjoy the fun, we loved having you! We interchanged jokers and blanks as a fun twist of traditional game rules so you’ll see some of both in the winning hands featured. Who knew a little April Fools mischief and mahjong could make such a perfect combo? 😄

Mahj102 = girls night by the lake 😍

These ladies showcased their new tablescapes while learning 2 and 3-person game play and had so much fun shuffling tiles AND seats! Everyone was able to play a couple games in both settings so they’re ready to play regardless who is pulling up a seat at their tables. We especially loved their extra practice time on the pontoon the next day featured at the end - we’ll definitely be trying that setup soon! 🀄️☀️

We had the best time with this crew in New Zion teaching them the basics of mahjong at their mahj101! Abigayle Shuey was the sweetest host and welcomed us with open arms and her girls caught on so quickly! We decided pool mahj is in the near future and can’t wait to go back and play with them again for their mahj102, where we’ll dive into more strategy and how to play with different numbers of players!

Mahj101 is perfect for beginners because we start with the very basics and build from there. If you’ve been watching from home but wanting to learn, come grab a seat at our tables or gather your girls & we’ll come to you!

We traveled to Manning for a gorgeous lakefront mahj101 morning with mahjong called so many times we lost count! 🤩 This group of ladies get together regularly and let me tell you, Natalie Bradley Barwick is the hostess with the mostest! They had a full brunch spread, the cutest surcies, the most laughter, the best questions, and were all around such a fun group to teach! Check out these photos that had us in full spring vibes all morning long - how could we not be with this view?!

Raise your hand if you’re OBSESSED with mahjong and have played 5 days out of the last 7. 🙋🏼‍♀️😬🤭 We’re hearing 🀄️MAHJONG🀄️ in our sleep after a week packed with mahj101 + mahj102! 🤩 We’ve had the opportunity to host the sweetest mom + daughter combos who brought their friends along for the fun this week!

• Mahj101 is designed to build a base knowledge of mahjong while teaching the tiles and playing card and working through a few games together - it’s perfect for beginners and we take it slow!
• Mahj102 builds on basic mahjong knowledge and dives deeper into strategy & variations of game play. These ladies wanted to learn 3-person and siamese games and they crushed it!

There are still opportunities in March to learn what the craze is all about and be calling 🀄️MAHJONG🀄️ in our monthly open play March 31! Message us to claim your seat 3/18 in Florence or 3/26 at The Willow Vine! ❤️

MARCH MADNESS is almost here and it’s bringing new opportunities to join our mahjong tables! We’ll end the month with an open play so you can meet new friends, share lots of laughter, win fabulous prizes, and call MAHJONG (of course 😉)!

Mahj101 will explore the basics of game setup, reading the playing card and tiles, playing card strategies, and include a round or two of guided game play. It’s the perfect way for those with little to no knowledge of the game to learn & join in around the table!
