I finally found a light to bring so I could take a reasonable photos of these babies faces! We’ll have to take what we can get. They are shoved into my office between my desk, the guinea pigs, and unused rower along with a fair amount of storage and other noise so the background is what it is. When you have dogs coming out your ears, space becomes a premium!
Mama and I are struggling. I’m not doing a lot to earn her trust. Her pups had developed a little respiratory rattle which means antibiotics twice a day which means picking them and shoving it her face too. I’ve tried to make up for it with hamburger, cheese, and other super high value goodies. It’s absolutely what have you done for me lately with her. We’re friendly to eat the treat and then it’s back to side eyes and clear warnings I’m not welcome.
She’s just so unsure and such a good mama. She’s going to protect these littles to her absolute last breath if she has to. I got nothing but admiration and I’m so so proud of her. I’m ok that we’ll probably never be friends. She’ll find her person and won’t have this traumatic time with them and will be able to overcome the fear.
The pups are funny. They are recovering well from the rattles. There’s a little left to clear, but it’s so much better than it was. Cerulean is a spitfire. She’s chatty and busy. Last couple of nights she’s woken me up looking for mom and squealing about it. As soon I open the door mom hops right in with them and settles her down. I’ve found her a few times outside the box too. I guess she’s go wherever she has to to chase the milk machine!
Will watching for eyeballs this week! They are trying to push up on all fours so we’re close!
