🐙 Octodos food |
La Griglia has been a Houston favorite for more than 30 years, serving authentic Italian food in Montrose 🇮🇹. The setting is upscale yet comfortable, the service is excellent, and the cooking sticks to tradition. This is a place for people who appreciate consistency instead of chasing trends.
Here’s what we ordered—and why it stood out:
* Carpaccio 🥩 – Thin slices, well-seasoned, and straightforward. Nothing extra, just done right.
* Hamachi Crudo 🐟 – Fresh, balanced flavors, prepared with a light touch.
* Pasta alla Ruota (for two) 🧀🍝 – Rich, indulgent, and proudly traditional. The tableside presentation is still worth it.
* Lamb Rack 🍖 – Cooked just right—pink in the center, properly rested, and simply served.
* Nonna Potatoes & Pomme Frites 🥔🍟 – Classic sides: crispy, well-seasoned, and always reliable.
* Fresh Spun Ice Cream 🍨 – A classic, elegant way to end the meal.
Drinks we tried:
* Hendrick’s Martinis 🍸 – Served cold, classic style, with nothing unnecessary added.
* Carajillo ☕🥃 – Made the right way and a bold finish to the evening.
* Illy Cappuccino ☕ – Exactly how you’d expect it—just right.
About the atmosphere:
White tablecloths, dim lighting, and attentive service give the room a welcoming, lived-in feel 🕯️. La Griglia knows what it does best and doesn’t try to change just to get noticed.
Final thoughts:
If you want the latest food trends, this isn’t the place. But if you’re after Italian food that’s confident, consistent, and timeless, La Griglia is still a great choice.
Shoutout to for setting this up.
