DYNAMIC DECO COLLECTION - Inspired by historic textiles from the Kravet archive

Inspired by a piece from the Kravet archives, this collection explores art deco and geometric patterns. Its deep shades and rich color palette will add drama and intrigue to a cozy interior space or commercial building.

Surprisingly, this has become one of my all-time favorite design projects. The parameters of the brief offer a framework for designing a collection based on an archival textile. We were only allowed to shift one to two colors and had to primarily stick to the color palette of the original piece.

I chose to approach this project analog, and hand drew patterns on graph paper, digitized them, and turned them into repeat patterns with the chosen colors. I have learned that starting by hand and then digitizing gives me the best results, especially when taking inspiration from historic textiles.

Funky Fresh: Celebrating the 1960s

For my senior capstone project, I chose to design print and pattern collections inspired by different decades. As my senior year comes to a close, I am now going to be sharing them!

REVIVIFY: Design Through the Decades
Exploring 100 years of motifs, colorways, and application of print and pattern in America.

Each collection features a time capsule box that contains mood boards, swatches, and various elements specific to the collections, all carefully archived in custom-wrapped boxes designed to honor the significance of these explorations. The tactile experience of unfolding and unboxing adds to the sense of stepping back in time. We are not just observing these collections; we are experiencing them.

For this collection, I also created a pair of big, luscious velvet pillows!

Swinging: Celebrating the 1950s

For my senior capstone project, I chose to design print and pattern collections inspired by different decades. As my senior year comes to a close, I am now going to be sharing them!

For this collection, I also created a pair of curtains out of the Boomerang fabric to bring this print to life!

Maximal Miami ☀

My most recent collection, Maximal Miami, takes you back in time to classic Miami, full of Cuban influence. Pulling from popular colors of the era and matching them with colors trending today, the collection aims to modernize the original designs, and invite you into a place of flora and texture. There is evidence of decay and mystique, yet the patterns are full of life.

This collection features prints that I envision on fabric and wallpaper, as well as hand-painted ceramic tile.

Florals, florals, florals! Charming Charcuterie, continued. I really enjoyed turning watercolor and ink drawings into these patterns. It's so magical to turn drawings and paintings into repeat patterns, and imagine them as wearable items :)

More from the collection, Charming Charcuterie! When designing a collection, you typically have a statement print, and then coordinate and texture prints that play off of the statement. Here you'll see coordinate prints, as well as two scarf and tablecloth designs. In this collection, I focused on florals, fish, and fun 🐠😍☀️🌺

When you’re coming off a vacation/ birthday high and have a particularly low day, you wear your new snakeskin boots and walk towards ice cream! My summer outfits are often variations of this: crop top, high waisted shorts, jacket. These boots are Rodolfo Valentino from the 80s and I LOVE them.
