One of my favorite things about what I do is the people I meet along the way who become dear friends.
Recently, I took a little road trip to visit my friend Rebecca at the beautiful Humble Store in Kinsale, Virginia. Rebecca has been ordering custom-label candles from our candle company, and I was thrilled to finally spend some time exploring her amazing shop in person.
The Humble Store is filled with rich history and incredible character. Rebecca and her husband lovingly and painstakingly spent five years restoring and renovating this historic building, and the results are absolutely breathtaking. Every corner tells a story, and every display reflects Rebecca’s passion for preserving beautiful vintage and antique treasures.
And here’s the sweetest part—just as I pulled into the parking lot, two of my wonderful customers pulled up right beside me! What started as a simple visit turned into an afternoon filled with laughter, an impromptu shopping trip together, and the kind of fellowship that makes this journey so special.
Moments like these remind me that this business has never been just about beautiful things. It’s about the friendships that are formed, the connections that are made, the memories that are created, and the joy of preserving and celebrating the stories of the past. There’s something so special about gathering around pieces that have been loved before us—treasures that connect generations and remind us that the best stories are often the ones carried forward.
I left feeling inspired not only by Rebecca’s beautiful store and incredible collection, but by the people who make this journey so meaningful. My heart is full, and I’m grateful for every friendship, every adventure, and every story shared along the way.
