Tiny Stitches is a custom sewing business that specializes in infant and children's clothing and baby gifts. I cater to customization, and will be happy to work with you to design your order - from simple paci-clips to heirloom christening gowns. Only quality fabrics and trims are used and I professionally finish each item. All work is done by me in my Smoke-Free/Pet-Free home studio.

A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of making this christening bubble and cap out of the scraps of his mama’s beautiful wedding gown. A few years ago, I made his older brother a similar bubble for his baptism.

It is always an honor when I am asked to make one of these very special family heirlooms.

The fabric was beautiful silk satin with an overlay of embroidered Point E’sprit netting.

The evolution of a quilt!

My niece has been sewing with me for a few summers now and sometime ago she started a quilt. I picked up a bunch of charm packs and let her choose which ones she wanted to include in her quilt. This girl has a BUSY extracurricular schedule so she could come sew here and there. My extra machine has been set up for her so anytime she wanted to come sew, it was ready. She came a couple of days ago and put on the outer border and today I quilted and bound it for her.

She did ALL the sewing, ALL the pinning, and ALL the ripping when that had to happen. I am so incredibly proud of her! The finished quilt measures 61x65, I think, so it’s something she will be able to use throughout her life.

In my spare time, I enjoy making quilts for family and friends. I finished this quilt top this afternoon. Next week, I will make the quilt sandwich (top, batting and backing) and will start quilting soon. This is a gift for a special someone. Can’t say who just yet.

The christening gown and slip were picked up earlier this afternoon. They were made from my clients vintage wedding gown and will be worn by babies born into their family in the future.

The wedding gown was heavily beaded, but the sequins that were behind the beads had yellowed so they alllllllllll had to be removed.

This quilt is being donated to the community fundraiser for St. James ARC. Funds raised through this event will go toward the cost of building the new center for the ARC clients.

You can bid on this quilt Sunday May 3rd at 1pm. The event will be held at Our Lady of Peace Community Center.

Something old, something new and something blue are all covered in these hankies and money dance bag! These keepsakes were made from a vintage wedding gown of the families Matriarch. The bag was made from the lower part of one of the sleeves. The sweet blue hearts were made from pieces of the blue shirt that their Patriarch once wore. These will be for future weddings of the grandchildren. ❤️❤️❤️
