Antique Sale Pop Up Today and Tomorrow in Van Alstyne

I’ll be at 1278 W Van Alstyne Pkwy today from 1-4 pm getting ready for the antique sale we’re holding tomorrow Saturday 10am- 2pm. I figured why not be open for people to shop today too. As you can see we still have a few boxes to unpack from our latest treasure hunting. If you like Pyrex and other vintage houseware items you’ll want to checkout what’s in shop.

Did you know today is National Thrift Shop Day?

The day highlights the benefits of secondhand shopping, supports sustainable fashion, and promotes local charity stores that use proceeds to fund community and job-training programs.

Ironically, before I knew today was National Thrift Shop Day, I went to one of my favorite local charity shop to see if I could find any treasures.

This vintage Red Wing pottery vase, model M-1570, designed by Charles Murphy was the find of the weekend for me. The distinctive turquoise blue speckled glaze with raised white atomic starburst motif… I obviously had to get it. This piece will be in my own collection for the foreseeable future.

You know it’s going to be a good day when you get to have your morning coffee and a little juice in one of these: Kraft Foods “Swanky Swig” glasses, Welch’s Jelly Jars and a vintage Fire-King milk glass coffee mug featuring a cartoon tiger illustration produced for Esso (later Exxon) gas stations as part of their “Put a Tiger in Your Tank” advertising campaign during the 1960s.
