At the time, that "skill" was a scant knowledge of sewing, just barely enough to fix some unusable diapers I had ordered from someone who had scammed me. I fixed a bunch of my own diapers to learn the craft and then began offering the service to women in the local area. Because of it's success, I decided to keep it up, and continue to offer my time to get their diapers back in action! ;)
You migh
t have noticed that this page is named Stitch n Hook, which implies that there are two parts to this whole thing. The second part, the "hook," began in November of 2016, when my good friend Elani encouraged me to take my scant knowledge of crochet and expand it a little. This scant knowledge then exploded into a passion and love for a craft that I barely acknowledged before. I now am working towards being a sustainable local business, making homemade gifts and items for others, encouraging that notion that we as Americans learn to buy local and shop small. Another vision I have for this endeavor is that it will someday be a sustainable, dependable piece of income for my family, to take a little bit of the pressure off my hard-working husband, but to also be home and availible for our two daughters all at the same time. Its a big dream, yes, but that doesn't dictate whether or not it can happen ;)
So here is to creating joy, one stitch and one hook at a time!
