Stuff is a major responsibility, but I didn't have to tell you that. I sometimes feel conflicted by my Maximalist nature, but then I start moving around the sea of things. I become the wind rustling through the branches, shaking the dead growth to the rich Forest floor.

There exists many philosophies on the deeper meaning behind collecting things. Whether we think it is driven by fear, a need for control, or childhood trauma, when we choose to facinate for awhile, giving our deep focus to something, we are learning something, and maybe in doing so we will be more likely to remember that something later. At the very least, our brain will feel accomplished if only for a brief while.

Hi, I am Amanda. My husband Tobias and I live in Vernonia, Oregon. Our favorite thing to do is check out places in Oregon we have never been and of course see if they have any good thrift stores, breakfast houses and breweries. We love seeing how nature and industry shapes a place. Off we go again, down a new back road admiring dilapidated barns, thriving plants, forgotten towns, and the kinds of businesses that bring vitality to their neighbors. We can't help but root for the underdog, places where industry had left years ago, but in its place a resilient, resourceful community remains. It is our hopes that the kinds of things we collect tell this story for us. Handmade, vintage, and built to last!
