Can you even imagine growing up with Jesus, not believing He was the Son of God, and then having your entire world change when you saw Him alive again?
I've been thinking about the deep anger James, Jesus little brother, must have fought, the hurt from what was done to his older brother. But instead of bitterness, he chose grace. He lived it, and then he poured it out for us. He faced that oppression head-on, and he chose to practice what he preached.
In his letter, he writes so honestly about the power of our words, how our faith is shown by our actions, and how and where to find wisdom when we need it most. This isn't just a theory—it's forged in his own fire.
He went on to become a leader of the early church, and he literally lived out his faith until his very last breath, becoming a martyr for the very brother he once doubted. What a testimony to God's grace!
But don't just take my word for it. This story is so much more powerful when you read it yourself. Grab your Bible and flip to The Book of James—you might be surprised by what you find.
What is something in your life right now that you're trying to practice patience with?
