There are 2 must have herbs I have in my herb garden, comfrey & plantain (not the same as the banana lookalike)
First is COMFREY, known as bone knit. The allantoin content in comfrey leaves and roots with their ability to repair damaged cells and produce new ones may help speed the healing of skin burns, insect bites, stings and rashes, skin ulcers, and bed sores. It can cure various skin conditions like psoriasis, a condition where the skin becomes itchy and red and has scaly patches, and eczema, where patches of skin become rough and inflamed, causing painful blisters. You can either choose to directly apply comfrey ointment or a poultice made from the crushed leaves of the herb or by drinking comfrey tea made from comfrey root powder extract. Not to be taken internally.
2nd is PLANTAIN, used it for wounds, bruises, boils and to reduce the swelling of rheumatic pains. Chew the roots to relieve toothache.
You can chew up a bit of the leaves & apply directly to stings for fast relief.
Apply poultice or creams to treat insect bites and stings, stinging nettle, poison ivy etc. and applied to scalds and wounds, providing pain relief, as well as decreasing minor bleeding.
It’s also used internally to help relieve coughs, bronchitis, tuberculosis, sore throat, laryngitis, urinary infections and digestive problems. Plantain is easily found in southeast Texas.
Always speak to a medical professional before using herbs medicinally.
