Kenna and I never expected to go through the temple together.

It was actually such a pleasant surprise. We didn’t plan to go through before we got married, and then we went to the Deseret Peak Temple Open House🕊️🕊️

We both separately felt a specific prompting that it was a perfect time for each of us🥹

I didn’t know if I wanted to tell Kenna yet, but I couldn’t hold it in haha

And she said the same thing back to me🥰

Made it something to look forward to🥰We set a budget to go shopping for clothes. Even if your closet is already garment friendly, it’s fun to have new pieces to look forward to. This also made it feel like we were graduating and becoming women hehe We had celebratory pieces we only started wearing after going through the temple. It felt special and different from other days.

Committed to wearing them (and not for the reason you’re thinking). This looks different for everyone. Making a decision and sticking with it takes so much stress and pressure off any decision. The back and forth is exhausting. So giving ourselves one decision and sticking with it felt like such a relief☺️

Thought outside the box💖It’s tempting to look at a piece and think it won’t work with garments. But having garments really helped us think of outfits we never would’ve worn. Off-the-shoulder pieces are a great example. Initially, we thought we wouldn’t wear them. But then we bought them oversized with tanks under or stitched up a shoulder and created a neckline we never would’ve thought to wear. And it looked vibey which was fun. We have a lot of pieces our friends who don’t wear garments have wanted without even realizing we altered them🥹
