I guess it’s time to let everyone know!
First, Virginia Surplus is not closed and is still doing business as usual. Buy, Sell, Trade, Fi****ms! Special orders are welcome, work boots, Archery and ETC! We are trying to sell and needed to knock down our inventory to make the business more sellable.
Second, the new Sushi Restaurant is not going into the Virginia Surplus building. I can’t stop rumors but at least I can let some of you know Virginia Surplus is still open and doing business as usual Wed.-Sat.. Thanks everyone and have a great day!

Starting June 1st. Virginia Surplus will have new store hours!
Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 9-5:30 & Saturday 9-5.
Closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. The reason is simple, I work 60-70 plus hours a week, I’ll be 72 in November and I would like to spend more time with my wife Janet! Other than the change in store hours it will be business as usual. I would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the 33 years we’ve owned Virginia Surplus! Thirty one years ago today turned the key on Virginia Surplus! Been a great ride! We have the best customers in the world and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for all the years of support! Now to squelch the rumors factory, I'm not going out of business, have not sold the store, but it is up for sale. So for now its business as usual and I'm still here. When the day comes I retire I'll let you know, so I'm not going anywhere soon! I love my community, the Iron Range and all the folks in it! Thirty years ago today I turned the keys on Virginia Surplus! How fast thirty years has past! My mother Marjorie ( who was one of the smartest women I have ever known!) became my partner for years! If it wasn't for you, our customers & employees, (Especially Cheryl Maki, who has been with us since the beginning) we wouldn't be here today! So with great humility and pride, my wife Janet and I would like to say, "THANK YOU"!
