🤯 I never thought I’d say it, but I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy road running quite the same way again. Trail running has completely changed what running means to me. 🌿
It taught me that pace isn’t everything. That walking up a hill isn’t failure. That sometimes the best runs are the ones where you stop to take in a view, share a laugh at an aid station, or suffer alongside complete strangers who somehow feel like friends by the finish line. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
There’s also something refreshing about a sport that humbles everyone equally. One minute you’re feeling strong, the next you’re bent over on a climb wondering why you voluntarily signed up for this. 😬
And let’s not ignore one of the biggest perks…
Trail running somehow turns eating constantly into part of the race strategy. 🥐
I’m not saying road running is worse. Far from it. It gave me the foundation for everything I do now, but trail running reminded me why I started running in the first place. 🙌🏼
Can anyone else relate, or is it just me?
