I’m trying pretty hard to avoid having a job where I have to be somewhere eight hours a day, five days a week. And that means getting pretty creative with how I use my time throughout the week.

Having the flexibility to go take care of things when I need to is great, but it can also be stressful when it’s completely up to you to produce the results—and in this case, the results are income.

I think what makes it work is that so many of my friends are doing this too. We’re all out there buying, selling, creating, hauling stuff around and figuring it out as we go. A lot of the time, it doesn’t even feel like work.

I still can’t believe I’m lucky enough to make a living doing something I genuinely enjoy.
