I reached out to a very dear friend of mine today , I had reached out to touch base and as we we were texting I thought about it being breast cancer awareness month, and then I thought about how she came and got me from the oncologist in Asheville the day I found out that I had breast cancer, and how she was with me through the entirety of my first round of chemo. Then she called me and we started talking and it just felt good to be talking to her today. On February 27th 2017, I had my first round of chemo, and on July 19th, 2017 I completed my 16th round of chemotherapy for Her2negative, Estrogen Progesterone positive stage 2b invasive carcinoma. I was blown up all over from the steroids, hadn’t been able to go to the bathroom comfortably for 5 months and had lost not just the hair on my head, but my eyelashes, and my eyebrows. my skin was red and I hated to look in the mirror. And I was one of the very fortunate ones to get through it. If you know then you know how precious those prayers, and friends and family support are, and how much you feel them! You also appreciate every person you see with a wrap on their head because they know and you know how scary it is because only the person going through it understands their very individual journey, but they are going through it with you still. I am 7 years out now, but today I have been thinking about the women and men who are in the thick of it! If you are going through breast cancer treatments it would be an honor for me to pamper you with a complementary facial this month! Send me a message, call me or text me and I will send you all of the information for you to share with your oncologist, I will be wearing a mask and your physical and mental health will be my top priority, as well as making sure you have a relaxing and wonderful self care experience!
