In celebration of ’ birthday, Tim carved these spines with her friends’ names, detailing them with homemade coal ink. He then tied them with cords long enough to be used as necklaces or car charms. :) Happy Birthday aunty, cousin, sister, friend, and thank you for all that you do for us!

This is the first release of Tim’s collection reviving traditional Kiribati tattoo motifs🇰🇮. These designs were buried by colonizers, and Tim spent extensive time researching in libraries and online records to uncover them. By carving these patterns into urchin spines, he is reclaiming this art so it can be worn again.

Humpback whales visit Hawaii’s shallow waters every winter, they can actually be seen breaching while waiting at a red light! 🚦🐋

Fun Fact: Those bumps on their heads and fins are actually sensory organs called tubercles. They help the whales navigate and detect vibrations from prey. They also improve water flow, reducing drag and allowing these giants to make incredibly tight, fast turns
