Here’s a quick update on where we are now and our future plans. Our website is live but we won’t be able to ship orders until 2022. Cybersecurity is something we take extremely seriously, and part of that is that we only access the backend of our site through a specially set up computer. I can’t get to that computer, since its packed. Plus our top & yarn is now packed too, which makes sending orders out kinda hard. :D

We’re also making some changes with our social media in 2022, to help simply things. This page will be a legacy page. It’ll still be up, but we will not be posting here anymore. Our videos will also be moved to a new site as well. I’ll post an update of where we’ll be on our website & will also send this info out by newsletter.

Until then, all of us here would like to wish you a happy holiday & happy & healthy new year! And of course happy spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, felting & crocheting!

Good things happening early can be a lot of fun & what’s more fun than Rhinebeck? This year we’re starting Rhinebeck off a bit early so you can get a head start on shopping before we move. Timing wise we’re definitely going to be shipping orders through the end of September, but it’s looking likely that we’re going to have to pause shipping once we move. We don’t have a firm date for when that is yet, but we’ll post our last day for new orders on our website as soon as we know when that is. Until then, we’re shipping orders weekly.

I know we’ve been quite for a while, and I’m so excited to fill you in on what’s we’re working on here. We have some really huge changes coming that are really exciting, but the journey to making them a reality is a long one with quite a bit of work. There are 2 that we’ve talked about before, our new website and a gradual transition off of the platforms we’re posting this on. The new site is up and running.

We received another reminder today about why we’re moving to other social media platforms with an email from this one. Their new terms of service give them full rights to our product images and content. Taking product photos is something we put a lot of time into, first setting up a photo studio in the mill and afterwards some basic color correction & cropping in Photoshop. All the photos on our site now are the product of at least 2 weeks of work. We put the work into making the products & the photos, so its not fair that someone else gets to take them. This is why our products are no longer for sale on this platform. Be sure to follow us on the 2 platforms mentioned above, since we’re planning on not being here after the end of the year.

Then there’s the biggest change of all…the most exciting for sure but also the most work. Packing up home, farm and mill to move to another state. If you’ve ever moved, you know how stressful & exciting it can be, and both of us have chronic pain issues which makes it more challenging. We’re really looking forward to settling into our new home for both the mill and us, in a place where its easier for us to be healthy.

Our new website is ready for orders and we’re shipping them out as soon as possible. We will reach a point when we’ll have to temporarily suspend all orders while we move and settle in, and we’ll be sure to let you know when that is.

We've been hard at work imagineering a new & improved website! Phase 1 will be ready for launch within the next few days, with even better security & faster loading speeds.

This is the "extremely functional but not very pretty version", since its really important that you have the most secure online shopping experience possible. We have a LOT of plans to customize this site, including a theme that'll be really beautiful. Sometimes mills have to make the choice between beautiful/fast/secure but more time to build and fast/secure & ready now.

Here’s a quick update on some very exciting changes. First, you can now send us a text message to ask questions via our new phone number. The chat we had was slowing the website down, so we had to make this change. Next, we’re slowly transitioning to MeWe & Locals for social media. Your privacy is important to us, and both platforms are more privacy-centric than where we are now. And last but certainly not least is perhaps the most exciting of all…we have a brand new website that we hope to be rolling out soon.

Shopify was a good place to start, but we’ve had to make a few adjustments recently. These adjustments made it clear that we had outgrown them. Yes, we have everything we need to make more white gotland/rose top & yarn, rambouillet/angora yarn and more. But we had to deactivate those products and more to speed the site up. Plus the chat we were using was also slowing things down, so it had to go too. The new website will be more robust & better able to handle all the products we make.

In the meantime, we’re just a call or text away!
