Collection of 45 WWII letters spanning from 1943-1945 written by Dwight Adams (from Maine) 2nd Lt, 326th B*mb Sqdn. 92nd B*mb Gp.
The letters appear to track him from training, to a hospital stay due to an injury, through a deployment to the European Front, and his return to military work in the states. I’ve only briefly scanned about 25% of the letters to get an idea of where he was at. Content appears to be self censored, and is indicated as such on the envelopes. There’s some brief mention of buzz b*mbs and doodlebugs in one letter I read, and several mentions of missions he or others were on that couldn’t be discussed.
There seems to be of discussion about the Browns, as well as the Red Sox and Yankees, World Series, and of course recent movies and entertainment. He also pokes fun at his sister to whom he was writing I believe, who had recently moved south from Maine to Virginia?? I think, which he called “the rebel empire.”
Offered as found, with his pilot member/physical record card.
$160 with free USA shipping.
