Gomillion

Gomillion A creator of boutique fashion in D.C. The clothing is elegant, professional, and sexy. All headed by our couture seamstress and tailor, Vanessa Gomillion.

Couture Seamstress & Tailor...A slave to the needle, which means faster and easier, but quality as well. Nothing is more beautiful or powerful than creating custom-made clothing! Actually the beginning was truly remarkable! Admiring grandfather's tailoring skills and mother's dressmaking designs is what first ignited the spark to sew. I started out by creating a blazer in my home economics class,

but I never imagined this one class would impact my life forever. Now I am confident in welcoming threads to stitches: bridal gowns, suits, jackets, blouses, and so much more. Actually, my primary focus is on the clients needs and wants. But even more, every effort is made to satisfy and finalize specifications. You often hear statements such as “She’s a born artist," or “He’s a born athlete,” then here is another "the gifted hands." Although there is a natural ability to sew; I take an “hands-on” approach to learning new things.

The same story with a different look!

Drastic changes to create that perfect look. If it does not fit, then what really matters? Could the wealthiest person look like a slob? Of course, without a good-fitting piece of clothing. Sometimes I feel like ripping the clothes right off a person. The problem, sleeves too long, pant too long, dress or pant too big. Obviously this is the time to let your seamstress know that you prefer a more fitted look.

Your clothes don’t fit and it is ruining your style? Gomillion is one holla away!

I love to sew anything that needs sewing. It all started at home with my mom, then in home economics. One stich from sewing my own one-of-a-kind apron to a fully lined blazer. I will never forget, the red blazer was wonderfully sewn. So beautiful, that when I returned to school the next day it was gone. However, dealing with this disappointment enabled me to realize how well I could sew at a young age.

A stitch in time, until I decided to quit corporate and moved to sew full time. Although sewing is an ancient skill, some find it a way to economize on evening gowns and prom dresses; others the tailored look. Whether to economize or give that perfect fit; it is all tailored made.
