Pick-up hours are:
Friday, March 13 : 10-5
Saturday, March. 14 : 12-4
Wednesday, March 18 : 10-5
You can contact us to schedule a pick-up if you cannot make it during these times.

Today, with the help of some amazing volunteers, we shipped 500+ whistles! We have now shipped over 1000 whistles to 40 states.

WNEM stopped by tonight to talk to us about the Melt The Ice Hat knit and crochet gatherings we and other yarn shops are hosting to bring awareness to what is happening in Minneapolis. Carolynn did an interview while we had a large gathering tonight. See it air on TV5 tonight at 11. We are purchasing the patterns for anyone who would like them (proceeds of the patterns go to immigration aid) and we are offering 40% off any red yarn purchased.

We have requests for around 3000 whistles right now from individuals, schools, and religious organizations. People are taking care of their neighbors.💙

* We are printing whistles as quickly as we can
* At my current pace, we can send each person up to 10 whistles
* Whistles are FREE - I only ask that you pay shipping (due to the generous donations we have received, shipping is covered for the foreseeable future)

As a business that values transparency, we want to make it unquestionably clear to all of our customers and potential customers that we stand AGAINST the actions of DHS/ICE.

As firm believers in truth, justice, and due process, we believe there is NO justification for the violence that is being perpetrated on individuals in this country regardless of their immigration status.

The activities of ICE and those who support them are thoroughly un-Constitutional and un-American. This is our stance. It will not change. If this is unacceptable to you, now would be the time for us to part ways. No vitriol or explanation necessary. Thank you.

It is with much regret and disappointment that we share that *Blue Bird Makery will not be in attendance at Yarncentrick in 2026. To all of our customers who have come to this event to see us over the past 3 years, we truly appreciate your support. As we have no other Maryland events on our schedule for 2026, we will sincerely miss seeing all of our customer and vendor friends. This truly has been our favorite event over the past 3 years.

*For reasons known only to the event organizers, we have not been invited back for 2026.
