I won a storage unit on December 15th. I decided to bid in the middle of winter because it is what I like to call a curated unit. That means it’s not someone’s home that they boxed up and put in storage, it was a unit that every piece was put in there intentionally as keepsakes.
I started the bidding at $10 on December 5 and on Friday, December 12 I was losing the auction because it was up to $170. I decided because of the weather I was at my max bid.
Sunday night the winner retracted his bid and it defaulted to me and I woke up to a congratulations you won this unit for my max of $130.
I decided 24 hours to clean that out was not gonna happen so I re-rented the unit and have been back three separate times.
Here are the pictures that I had to work off of when I was deciding to purchase. I have taken out about 15 boxes of collectibles and have been listing them as I can over the last month.
I have sold $450 worth so far on just 11 of the ceramics. I will post those photos later this week from my eBay store sold page. So with the unit win of $130 and the re-rental of the unit at $100 a month which so far has been $240 because the first month was prorated. I am up $87 dollars today and I have two more weeks of this month that has been paid for to get that number up.
I am going to be re-renting this probably through April. So the goal is to sell most of it before May.
So I will be taking photos and possibly a couple videos showing the process until the day where I can close the unit and get my deposit back lol
There is probably about 50 to 60 more items that need listed that I have a the home shop. And once I got inside the unit, it was furniture from the 1950’s and large 4 foot beveled antique mirrors, sideboards and a dining set and much more to go through.
Make sure you hit the follow button above so that you can see this journey and maybe help me figure out where I can sell a pool table!
See you soon!
