Moonlit Petrichor is a place where the creative outcasts thrive. In 2020 I started Moonlit Petrichor as a way to sell the overabundance of soap I had created. Not sure what to expect. 2 years later I found my first location and expanded Moonlit to welcome other local artists. It doesn’t stop there. I also carry a carefully curated selection of handmade candles all made in house by yours truly, featuring 20-30 custom blends you won’t find anywhere else. Along with of coffees, teas, incense, seeds, tarot cards and books. All sourced from small businesses that are either, woman owned, based in the Midwest, and/or LGBTQ friendly. And all ethically sourced and cruelty free! As a whole, Moonlit Petrichor is a chill, eclectic, boutique, located in a small Missouri town. Where authenticity and ethical standards matter. Where my love for animals shines through my cruelty free practices. Along with welcoming the weird and misplaced artists. At Moonlit Petrichor we believe in equality and love and acceptance for all. Wow, what a year.

I think it's time for another introduction. My name is Darby. I am the creator and owner of Moonlit Petrichor. Moonlit Petrichor is an eco-conscience soap and candle business. All of my products are made with clean ingredients sourced from reputable companies.

Moonlit Petrichor is more than a soap and candle business. We are also an eclectic boutique. We carry locally made jewelry and art, alongside delicious ethically sourced coffees and teas. We even have some books, tarot decks and pet treats! Most of the products we sell are from midwestern businesses. I use a checklist to select new items: where were they made, how were they made, what are their values? Here at Moonlit Petrichor you won't find things such as crystals and other bulk supplies that can't be verified as ethical.

With the influx in Ai usage, we are also fighting that battle. We will not bring in an artist that uses Gen Ai. We will not attend an event advertised with Ai, and we will not advertise an event using Ai. We will not litter our space with Ai flyers. I personally do not use Gen Ai. If you ever see anything advertised or edited with Ai and my name attached to it, please report it to me so I can work on getting it removed.

With all that being said, Moonlit Petrichor is a magical place that cares about the planet and the people. We are LGBTQ friendly. Cruelty free. As ethical as possible. And anti- Gen Ai.
