SELF DRAFTED-ISH
Upcycled a pair of Target skinnies I’ve had forever. Aside from the waistband and the back pockets in front, I used the Nava Rose corset pattern to create the rest. I really like the neon stitch for decor and durability.

The bucket hat had a top to it, but I cut it off because it made me look like an extra in a 4 Non Blondes video 😂 love it much better with the top open.

I sewed all seams the wrong way to get the frayed look—one cycle through the wash and the results were perfect.

PATTERN & SEW-A-LONG
Finally hopped on the timeless trend train and made my first . The pattern is by .masin and is easy to follow—I do prefer video directions, however, so I watched an awesome sew along with

KAFTAN
this is one of the many kaftans I got from my grandmother—she wore them often and was just FABULOUS in them. She is still around, but did not have a use for these anymore as she is no longer very mobile. We are lucky to have her fabulous clothes to carry out in the world for her 💜

STRAPS
Look at pictures of other fabulous Sicily slips, I knew I wanted to make the straps longer, so I did. However, they were still too short and the dress just wasn’t fitting right. I ditched the straps, folded over the portions where they were supposed to go and instead turned them into 4 loops.

I grabbed a purse I never use, took off the straps and tada! Choker x chain contraption. If you look closely, there are safety pins connecting the straps together, and I actually don’t mind a look at that I’m gonna spray paint them gold.
