PROTECT THE WOMAN YOU'RE BECOMING

Be careful what you allow around the woman you're becoming.

Protect your peace.

Protect your dreams.

Protect your time.

Protect your confidence.

Protect your energy.

Everybody doesn't deserve unlimited access to you.

You worked too hard to become this version of yourself.

THIS IS JUST A SEASON

If life feels heavy right now, remember this:

This is a season.

It's not your whole story.

The disappointment isn't your whole story.

The setback isn't your whole story.

The heartbreak isn't your whole story.

Keep going.

There are still chapters ahead that you haven't even read yet.

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO OUTGROW PEOPLE

Sometimes you aren't losing people.

You're simply growing into someone they no longer recognize.

Your priorities changed.

Your mindset changed.

Your standards changed.

Your dreams got bigger.

And that's okay.

You don't have to go backward just to keep someone comfortable.

Keep growing.

YOUR “NO” IS ENOUGH

You don't have to write a whole paragraph explaining why you said no.

No is a complete sentence.

No, I can't.

No, that doesn't work for me.

No, I'm not available.

No, I don't want to.

And you don't have to feel guilty about protecting your time, energy, and peace.

Your boundaries don't make you mean. They make you healthy.

1. STOP SHRINKING TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE COMFORTABLE You don't have to make yourself smaller so somebody else can feel bigger. Don't lower your voice. Don't hide your ideas. Don't apologize for being confident. Don't dim your light because someone doesn't know what to do with it. Take up your space. You earned it.

WE WIN DIFFERENTLY

Imagine what could happen if women stopped competing with each other and started building each other.

Imagine if one woman opened the door...

and another woman held it open.

Imagine if one woman got the opportunity...

and used her position to create opportunities for five more women.

Imagine if we celebrated each other's success without feeling threatened by it.

Her success doesn't take away from yours.

There is enough room at the table.

And if there isn't?

Build another table.

Black women are powerful.

Women are powerful.

And when we support each other, encourage each other, teach each other, and remind each other of who we are...

there is no limit to what we can become.

This is more than a page.

This is a reminder.

You matter. Your voice matters. Your dreams matter. And your story matters.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

What would you do if you stopped being afraid of what people might say?

Would you start the business?

Go back to school?

Apply for the position?

Write the book?

Start the podcast?

Leave the situation that no longer serves you?

Travel?

Start over?

Wear the outfit?

Speak your truth?

Whatever it is...

Stop waiting for everybody else to understand your vision.

Sometimes you have to believe in yourself before anybody else does.

Your dream doesn't need a committee meeting.

It needs you to take the first step.

SISTER, I SEE YOU

To the woman who looks strong on the outside but has been quietly struggling...

I see you.

To the woman taking care of everybody else while wondering who will take care of her...

I see you.

To the woman building a business while nobody understands the vision...

I see you.

To the woman starting over...

I see you.

To the woman raising children and trying to find herself again...

I see you.

To the woman who is tired but refuses to give up...

I see you.

You don't always have to have everything figured out.

Sometimes you just need somebody to remind you:

Keep going. You're doing better than you think.

DON'T COMPARE YOUR CHAPTER

Stop comparing your beginning to somebody else's middle.

You see her business taking off.

You don't see the years she spent learning.

You see her beautiful home.

You don't know what she sacrificed to get there.

You see her confidence.

You don't know how long it took her to rebuild herself.

You see the finished picture.

You don't see the messy middle.

So celebrate her...

then get back to building you.

Your journey doesn't have to look like hers to be beautiful.

There is room for all of us to win.

YOUR NEXT CHAPTER

Maybe your life doesn't look the way you thought it would.

Maybe you thought you'd be further along by now.

Maybe you thought you'd have the career, the business, the relationship, the house, the money, or the life by this age.

Take a breath.

Your story isn't over.

You are not behind.

You are not too old.

You are not too late.

You are simply still becoming.

Sometimes the next chapter requires you to release the person you were before.

Let her go with love.

Then walk into your next chapter with confidence.

There is still so much life waiting for you.
