This empty lot is becoming a $147 million housing community for nearly 800 Morehouse and Spelman students.

The bigger story is who will live there. Morehouse and Spelman are separate single-gender HBCUs, but this will be the first residential community created for students from both schools.

The 305-unit project is now under construction and is expected to open in fall 2028.
