A gloomy, rainy Wednesday evening is the perfect time for a between two classic albums from the Cure that have birthdays this week!

In the gothy early ‘80’s corner, we have “Pornography”, released May 3, 1982. And in the angsty late ‘80’s corner, we have “Disintegration”, released May 2. 1989.

Who you got?

I was sure “Disintegration” had it in the bag for me until I put on “Pornography” while taking the photo. It’s so freaking good also. Arrrrghh! I can’t choose!

Side note: weirdly these are the only two ‘80’s Cure albums that I don’t own original pressings of!

Thanks as always to the divine for giving us this joyous tag.

Yesterday one of my absolutely favorite Queen albums celebrated its 30th anniversary! 🎉

"Innuendo" is the band's 14th studio album and also the last one released during Freddie Mercury's lifetime.
Along with Queen classics like "A Night at the Opera", "A Kind of Magic" and "The Miracle", the 1991 album is one of my most listened to albums by the British band, because for me it is by far their most sophisticated and expressive work. It is full of power and passion with ups and downs. But you quickly realize it's a farewell, a farewell to one of the greatest musicians of all time. And this farewell shall be tremendous! ❤️

What do you think about “Innuendo“? 🤹

For today’s , let’s chose the hot button and topic of “early 2000’s French electronic artists who released follow up albums that were initially considered disappointments, but went on to gain cult followings and reappraisals”.

On the left, we have Air, who followed up the hugely popular “Moon Safari” and “Virgin Suicides” with “10,000 Hz. Legend”, which moved away from their dreamy pop-electronica into a real genre-hopping suite of songs.

On the right we have Daft Punk’s “Human After All”, which stripped the lushness of predecessors “Discovery” and “Homework” down to something cold, clinical, and robotic.

I’ve loved the Air since day 1, but the Daft Punk took me many years to fully come around to. Now, I’d be hard-pressed to choose a favourite, but I’ll give the ever-so-slight advantage to Air.

What’s your pick?

Thanks to as always for hosting the most fun hashtag of them all. And thanks to for making such fun threads, if you’re wondering about the shirt.

Happy (created by ) with another Prog battle and some shoutouts!

First of all, a big thank you and shoutout goes to for adding the Yes album "Time and a Word" to my record collection. If you have time and want to, please check out their website. I tell you, the huge selection of merchandise and records makes music lovers hearts beat faster!!! (cooperation)
Another shoutout goes out to my dear and long time friend from . Thank you so much for the awesome sweater. Please check out this online shop as well for some great vinyl related clothing that I love to wear myself. 🖤

Now let's get down to the nitty gritty: today I invite you to choose between the first two studio albums by British prog pioneers Yes.
Both the self-titled debut "Yes" (1969) and the successor "Time and a Word" (1970) were still very strongly influenced in style by the greats of the time like The Who, The Beatles and Pink Floyd and clearly belong to psychedelic rock. Nevertheless, the first beginnings of later progressive rock were already evident here, which is especially recognizable in the complex track "Then" from "Time and a Word" (which is one of my favorite Yes songs).

Both albums are equally amazing and have a great recognition value, if you ask me! But what’s your choice? 🎶
