Our Story
5th & Howard got its inception after a conversation with my grandmother. She always said that if I keep up the hard work then I'll make it to Broadway. Her idea of making it big spawned from a different time but the heartfelt encouraging concept resonated with me. For me, the epitome of a successful fashion brand is being sold and fawned over on 5th Ave in New York City. The development of this deeply personal brand draws regular inspiration from the outsiders perspective of luxury fashion in New York City with the intersection of family heritage.
The idea of lasting style came from my grandfather. Every morning he would wake up, put on his pressed shorts with the a front crease, seemingly high waisted, then add on a simple but elegantly colored button up shirt and top it off with a long brimmed hat. The regularity of "dressing" without coercion of some event or special moment seemed far fetched especially in the small town of Springfield,OH. Without fail, every time I would visit, this, seemed to be the normal routine.
Over the course of time I recognized that my own personal style was developed during these early years. I know now that when it comes to everyday dressing, because of him, I want to bring the excitement back. Keenly, I've noticed the deceptively casual and nonchalant culture when it comes to clothes and style to which I have this theory; that if I wear something exciting and dramatic then my day, my attitude, will be all the better. .
