Today I'm 33 and I've been in business for 8 years. I taught myself to sew at 14, at 18 I was the 2009 Herbert Denton Jr memorial scholarship winner. I was able to move to New York and go to college for Fashion. I took advantage of living in New York interning and working gainingmy couturebackground. By 2015 I moved back home to the Washington DC metropolitan area. In 2016, I had my daughter and one month later I started my business.
Little me would be proud of all of my accomplishments. I have came a long way from the self taught 14 year old that had big dreams to move to New York and become a Fashion Designer. My definition of success and happiness has changed. I used to think I'd have it all together by 30 and that I would be old then as well. Now I realize that life is about consistently growing and bettering yourself. You never will "have it all together " because with every new level, new challenges arise to push you to be a better version of yourself. I do know now that no matter what life throws at you, everything always works itself out!
