I don't need a perfect life to feel happy. I have a thankful heart, and that changes everything. I'm grateful for where I am, for what I have, and for who I'm becoming.

I choose to see the good, in my life and in people. Because when you focus on insufficient, you feel empty, but when you focus on blessings, you feel unstoppable. I am rich in gratitude.

You saw me on Facebook, you didn’t know me, but you stood by me as your sister. Without the same blood, you protected me; you wanted to see me grow; you cheered for me.

The Dream of Asiejay

My name is Asiejay.

I am a local girl from West Africa, with a dream I have carried since I was a little child, to become a well-known fashion designer.

I didn't grow up with much, but I grew up with vision. I would watch the colors of our markets, the way our mothers tied their wrappers, the way fabric could make a woman stand taller, and I knew, this was what I was born to do.

My request is simple.

I am calling on anyone, anywhere, who can help make this dream come true. It doesn't matter if you are American, African, Japanese, Indian, Bangladeshi, or from any corner of this world, if you have a heart to support a woman's dream, I welcome you.

Your encouragement, your guidance, your share, your support, no matter how small, means everything to me.

Help me make this little West African girl's dream a reality.
