I’ve always loved anime, and I know a lot of you here do too. That’s why I need to talk about something that is becoming a serious problem for creators, small businesses, and people in the anime community.

My store was recently hit with copyright complaints, and I removed the products that were reported. But what concerns me is the growing pattern of mass copyright reporting targeting creators and merchants across the anime space, allegedly using automated tools to search for keywords and content at scale.

Eric Green and Remove Your Media are part of the system behind the complaints I received, reportedly on behalf of major companies including Crunchyroll and VIZ.

Copyright protection is important. Nobody is arguing against that. But creators and small businesses should not be caught up in careless, overly broad, or potentially abusive mass reporting.

Google should not allow copyright enforcement tools to become a weapon against creators.

And we as creators should not allow abuse like this to become normal.

If you’ve experienced something similar, speak up. Share your story. We need more awareness around what is happening in the anime community.
