Before Jesus returned to His Father, He knew His disciples were about to step into a life that would look very different.

They had walked with Him, listened to Him, watched Him teach, heal, and lead them. And now He was telling them He was going away.

But He also gave them a promise.

His Father would send the Holy Spirit in His name. The Helper. The Spirit of Truth.

The One who would teach them, remind them of Jesus’ words, guide them in truth, and be with them.

Then Pentecost came.

God poured out His Spirit on the believers, just as Jesus said He would.

And that same Holy Spirit now dwells in those who belong to Christ.

I think that is one of the most beautiful parts of our faith.

The Holy Spirit is not just a passing feeling or a moment of emotion.

He helps us in our weakness.
He convicts us when our hearts begin to wander.
He helps us pray when we do not have the words.
He produces fruit in our lives as we walk with Him.
And through it all, He keeps pointing us back to Jesus.

Jesus finished the work of salvation on the cross. Fully & completely.

And God still chose to give His people His Spirit so we would not have to follow Him in our own strength.

What a gift.

The Helper.
The Comforter.
The Spirit of Truth. 🕊️

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” John 16:13⁣⁣⁣
